Decide which SaaS to use as the Employee Master

Start by deciding which SaaS to configure as your Employee Master. Connecting a compatible SaaS as the Employee Master assigns ID type and status labels shown in the quick reference. Accounts of former employees also receive a Resigned label, making it possible to detect departed users. You can check the available Employee Master options under Settings > Organization > Employee Master Settings. Employee Master settings screen

When you do not configure an Employee Master

You can still build a directory ledger using the following methods.

Employee Master Settings

Go to Settings > Organization > Employee Master Settings. Connect the SaaS you want to use as the Employee Master and configure it accordingly.
The connection uses a technology based on account aggregation, so you can connect safely without affecting each SaaS.

Employee Master — Supported SaaS

The following SaaS services are available as an Employee Master. See the link for each SaaS to learn the connection procedure. Once you complete the Employee Master setup, the ID type and status labels in the quick reference are applied. (Criteria differ depending on the Employee Master.)

Employee Master — Auto-synced Directory Data Fields

The fields automatically synced to this service’s directory data vary by SaaS. For details about the directory, see Manage Information on the Directory Screen. To specify a data source, also refer to Set or change a data source in “Directory Settings”.
  • If the SaaS configured as the Employee Master has a value, it overwrites the directory data.
  • If the SaaS configured as the Employee Master has no data (empty or null), it overwrites the directory data. The result is empty data. Even if you edit directory data manually, it rolls back to the Employee Master values. Make corrections on the SaaS side instead.

Domain Settings

Go to Settings > Organization > Domain to check the domain information registered in this service. The primary domain is registered as the default when you create your organization. Domain settings screen
  • For ID types and statuses when connecting an Employee Master, see the quick reference.
  • Adding a domain lets you change the ID type in the directory. For details, see Types in the directory documentation.
Connect the following SaaS services as the Employee Master. Doing so automatically registers their pre-configured domains in this service. For other cloud services, if you need to add a domain, enter the domain name and click [Add]. To remove a domain, click 🗑. Add domain screen
